Vandro Terms and Conditions
Effective 10 August 2026
Development draft: this document contains unresolved details and is not approved for public launch.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Vandro mobile application, website and related services (together, the "Service").
Vandro is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("Vandro", "we", "us" or "our").
By creating a Vandro account, purchasing a tour or other digital product, starting a subscription, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you download Vandro through Apple's App Store, your use of the app is also subject to the applicable Apple Media Services terms and Apple's standard end-user licence agreement ("Apple EULA"), unless a different end-user licence agreement is made available for Vandro. These Terms supplement those Apple terms. If there is a conflict concerning your relationship with Apple or your use of the App Store, the applicable Apple terms will take precedence.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
1. About Vandro
Vandro is a location-based, AI-powered travel and tour guide.
The Service may allow you to:
- discover places and points of interest;
- plan tours based on your location, destination or preferences;
- purchase or access tours and other digital travel experiences;
- receive AI-generated information, commentary and recommendations;
- use maps, routes and location-aware features;
- follow a tour while travelling through a destination; and
- access other travel-related features that we introduce from time to time.
Vandro is intended to help you explore and learn about destinations. It is not a travel agency, emergency service, professional guide, transport provider or guarantee that any attraction, venue, route or other third-party service will be available or suitable.
2. Your account
You must create an account to purchase and experience a Vandro tour.
Authentication is provided through Auth0.
You are responsible for:
- providing accurate information when creating or maintaining your account;
- keeping access to your account and devices secure;
- not allowing another person to misuse your account; and
- notifying us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.
You may not create an account using false information, impersonate another person or create accounts for abusive, fraudulent or unlawful purposes.
You can initiate deletion of your Vandro account from within the app.
Deleting your account does not necessarily cancel an active App Store subscription. You should separately manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account or App Store subscription settings.
3. Age requirements
You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE] to create a Vandro account.
If the law where you live requires a parent or guardian to consent to your use of the Service, you may only use Vandro with that consent.
We may introduce additional age restrictions for particular features where required by law or appropriate for safety reasons.
4. Tours and digital content
A "Tour" means a tour, itinerary, route, collection of places, commentary or other travel experience made available through Vandro.
Tours may be generated, adapted or supplemented using artificial intelligence and location information.
The content of a Tour may change over time. For example, we may update routes, descriptions, points of interest, AI models or other content to improve the Service, respond to changed local circumstances or correct information.
Unless we expressly state otherwise, purchasing or accessing a Tour does not include:
- admission to attractions;
- transport;
- food or drink;
- accommodation;
- reservations;
- tickets;
- guided services provided by a person; or
- any goods or services supplied by a third party.
You are responsible for any separate charges imposed by third parties.
5. AI-generated information
Vandro uses artificial intelligence, including technology provided by OpenAI and Microsoft Azure, to generate or support parts of the experience.
AI-generated information can be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated or inappropriate for the circumstances. It should be treated as a helpful travel aid rather than an authoritative source.
You should independently verify information that is important to your plans, particularly information concerning:
- opening hours;
- admission requirements and prices;
- transport times;
- accessibility;
- local laws or restrictions;
- health and safety;
- weather or environmental conditions;
- route suitability;
- visas, immigration or border requirements; and
- other information where an error could materially affect you.
Vandro does not provide legal, medical, financial, immigration, safety or other regulated professional advice.
6. Maps, routes and location
Vandro uses location information and mapping services, including Google Maps Platform, to provide location-aware features.
Routes, distances, travel times and map information are estimates and may be inaccurate or become outdated.
When using Vandro while travelling:
- remain aware of your surroundings;
- obey road signs, local rules, access restrictions and instructions from authorities;
- do not enter private, closed, unsafe or restricted areas because Vandro displays or suggests a route;
- do not use the app in a way that distracts you while driving, cycling or operating machinery; and
- use your own judgement where real-world conditions differ from information displayed in the app.
Your safety remains your responsibility. Where Vandro conflicts with signage, official instructions or the conditions you can observe around you, follow the real-world information.
7. Purchases and subscriptions
Vandro may offer subscriptions, individual Tours, collections, destination or country packs, or other digital products. The products, features, duration and price available to you will be shown in the app before purchase.
Purchases made through the iOS app are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not process your payment-card details.
Subscriptions
Where you purchase an auto-renewable subscription:
- the subscription provides access to the features described at the time you subscribe;
- the billing period and price will be displayed before you confirm the purchase;
- the subscription will renew automatically unless you cancel it;
- payment and renewal are handled by Apple; and
- you can manage or cancel the subscription through your Apple account or App Store subscription settings.
Cancelling a subscription normally prevents future renewal. It does not necessarily terminate access immediately; access may continue until the end of the period for which you have already paid, subject to Apple's applicable terms.
We may change the features included in future subscription periods. Any price changes will be handled in accordance with Apple's requirements and applicable law.
Individual purchases
Where Vandro offers a Tour, pack or other item as an individual purchase, the content and access offered will be described in the app before you buy it.
Access may depend on maintaining a Vandro account and using a supported version of the Service.
8. Cancellations and refunds
Payments made through Apple's App Store are administered by Apple.
Where you wish to request a refund for an App Store purchase, you should normally make that request through Apple's refund process.
Any refund, cancellation or other remedy remains subject to:
- your rights under applicable consumer law;
- Apple's applicable terms and refund processes; and
- any additional rights we expressly provide.
Nothing in these Terms removes or reduces a statutory right to a refund, price reduction, repeat performance or other remedy where such a right applies.
9. Availability of the Service
We aim to keep Vandro available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
Vandro depends on third-party infrastructure and services, including internet connectivity, device location services, Microsoft Azure, Auth0, OpenAI, Google Maps and Apple services.
Features may occasionally be unavailable because of:
- maintenance;
- technical failures;
- internet or mobile-network conditions;
- third-party outages or changes;
- security incidents;
- legal or regulatory requirements; or
- circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may modify, replace, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. Where a change materially affects a paid service, we will act consistently with applicable consumer law.
10. Acceptable use
You may use Vandro only for lawful personal use unless we expressly agree otherwise.
You must not:
- misuse the Service or use it for an unlawful purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to Vandro, another user's account or our systems;
- interfere with the operation or security of the Service;
- introduce malware or other harmful code;
- scrape, harvest or systematically extract data or content from Vandro except where permitted by law;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive source code except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law;
- use automated systems to place unreasonable loads on the Service;
- circumvent purchase, subscription, access-control or security mechanisms;
- resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute Vandro content without permission;
- use Vandro or its outputs to infringe another person's rights; or
- use the Service in a way that could reasonably harm Vandro, its users, its suppliers or the public.
We may take reasonable technical measures to prevent abuse.
11. Intellectual property
Vandro and the material made available through it may include software, designs, branding, text, audio, imagery, databases, Tour structures and other material owned by us or licensed to us.
Subject to these Terms and your applicable purchases or subscription, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial purposes.
This does not transfer ownership of Vandro or its intellectual property to you.
Third-party names, maps, content, trademarks and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.
12. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is explained in the Vandro Privacy Policy, available at:
[PRIVACY POLICY URL]
The Privacy Policy includes information about account data, location history, AI services, analytics, service providers, retention and your privacy rights.
13. Third-party services and places
Vandro may display information about, link to or interact with third-party services, attractions, venues, transport providers, businesses or websites.
Unless we expressly state otherwise:
- we do not operate or control those third parties;
- mentioning or displaying a third party does not constitute a guarantee or endorsement;
- their availability, prices, accessibility and terms are outside our control; and
- any transaction or arrangement between you and the third party is separate from your agreement with Vandro.
Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
14. Suspending or terminating accounts
We may restrict, suspend or terminate access to Vandro where reasonably necessary, including where:
- you materially or repeatedly breach these Terms;
- we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse or unauthorised access;
- your use creates a security or legal risk;
- we are required to do so by law or by a competent authority; or
- continuing to provide the Service is no longer reasonably possible.
Where appropriate, we will give you notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
We will not use this section to deprive you of statutory consumer rights relating to paid content or services.
You may stop using Vandro at any time and can initiate account deletion from within the app.
15. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you entered into these Terms.
Vandro is provided for personal and consumer use. Unless we have expressly agreed otherwise, we are not responsible for business losses such as loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities or commercial data arising from consumer use of the Service.
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so. In particular, nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- any other liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
The sections concerning AI, maps, routes and third-party information explain the intended role and limitations of Vandro, but they do not remove any legal responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Events outside our reasonable control
We are not responsible for a failure or delay caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control where we have taken reasonable steps to minimise the impact.
This may include significant telecommunications or cloud-service failures, natural disasters, governmental action, civil emergencies or other events that prevent normal operation of the Service.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms where reasonably necessary, including to reflect:
- new or changed Vandro features;
- changes to our business or technology;
- changes to third-party services;
- security requirements; or
- legal or regulatory changes.
The effective date at the top of these Terms shows when they were last updated.
If a change materially affects your rights or an ongoing paid service, we will provide appropriate notice and any rights required by applicable law.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you may also benefit from mandatory protections under the laws of the country where you live. Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove those protections.
If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable consumer law, including, where applicable, the courts of the part of the United Kingdom or country in which you live.
19. General terms
If a court or competent authority finds part of these Terms unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
A delay by us in enforcing a right does not mean that we have waived that right.
These Terms are between you and Vandro. Except where applicable law or the Apple EULA provides otherwise, no other person has a right to enforce them.
